There is video of some taking down a Palestinian flag earlier this week. But of course, this does not justify leading a premeditated mass pogrom against anyone with the same identity, assaulting and car-ramming them. The people now justifying the violence are the same ones who've spent the last year justifying anti-Israel activists tearing down hostage posters, chanting for Israel's destruction, picketing synagogues and campus Hillels, and declaring "long live October 7" and "globalize the intifada." By their logic, such conduct should justify street rampages against anti-Israel protesters, but of course, they do not believe that. Their only consistent moral principle is that Jews have it coming in any and all circumstances, but others do not. Here's a better principle for the rest of us: No one should be assaulted in the street and no one should justify it.
