Last year I decided I was no longer satisfied just posting about housing. So I started a company with 3 other incredible dudes with the mission to build missing-middle housing at scale. Introducing... The American Housing Corporation It’s time to rebuild the American Dream.
For a half-century, America has critically under-built family-sized housing in our most dynamic cities and neighborhoods, rendering them childless and unaffordable. It's time to save the American Dream. Introducing The American Housing Corporation.

There's only one correct answer to the question of "What is the acceptable casualty rate for the first-wave of space colonization before halting the attempts?" And its 100% 100% casualty rate is acceptable. There is nothing more important, you will die anyway, on Earth or off

APT – Alway Post Triangle
Am reasonably confident Texas will be the epicenter of hard tech over the next twenty years. We went to the Lone Star State and explored in four, wondrous episodes. Starting here with some telescope farming youtube.com/watch?v=bN48vEqa…

This is an absolutely massive deal. The fact that Austin got this and Dallas wasn’t even in consideration should make the Dallas business community pause.

Because site built construction is so labor intensive … construction is high in places where housing is *currently* expensive It’s a compounding effect And (coincidentally) it’s why industrial manufacturing for housing is most useful in high cost areas
Probably the most important graph explaining California’s housing crisis. Construction costs are up 53% since January 2019. Interest rates are up from 2.7% to 4.1%. This is why a San Francisco report recently found that most housing projects are no longer feasible.

Except in Austin where you have to book an Uber and pray that you either get a Waymo or you get a grimy-ass, cigarette smoke, clapped out Nissan Altima. The Waymo x Uber partnership is a travesty.

1/ There's nothing more un-American than our slow, often corrupt build-by-permission permitting regimes. With AI creating an even wider gap between how the world works, and how it could work — it's time for radical change. @judgeglock & I make the case for private permitting 🧵

ONE OF US. ONE OF US.
The best discovery of our road trip has been a musician called Ella Langley. We had never heard of her before, but after hearing her on pretty much every country radio station, we’ve become big fans. She’s basically the soundtrack of our trip.

Michigan is getting closer to legalizing single-stair buildings. If you would like to see this happen, call your legislator and tell them to vote YES on HB 5570 and 5571! @legalizehomes

Calling it now. People being able to clearly articulate an alternative architectural aesthetic will have a measurable impact on what gets built in the future. We're going to have a Cambrian explosion of new architectural experiments *and* a return to previous forms.
AI is getting so much better at editing buildings…

Someone always has to bring politics into it and ruin the wholesome good time we were having.
America is the greatest country on earth. Visitors just had to go beyond our nasty, Democrat-run hive cities to realize it. Now that they see actual Americans engaged in actual American culture, our World Cup guests love it.
