The father of algebra was an Indian Hindu NOT a Persian. And Al-Khwarizmi got his knowledge of algebra directly from Hindu texts. Two centuries before Al-Khwarizmi, Brahmagupta of Ujjain, India had already explained many algebraic concepts like solving quadratic equations, factoring polynomials, algebraic structures, etc. in his Brahmasphutasiddhanta (628 CE). Kuttaka ganita is the original Sanskrit term for Algebra. Al-Khwarizmi was a Persian Zoroastrian who was forced to convert to Islam & was appointed by Caliph Rasheed to head the library in Baghdad. Khwarizmi’s primary job was to translate Hindu astronomical tables (which Arabs called Sindhind) & mathematical works like Brahmasphutasiddhanta. That's where he got his ideas of Algebra from. Europeans later acquired the Algebraic concepts from Khwarizmi’s book & ignorantly attributed it to the Arabs. In fact, most of Al-Khwarizmi’s knowledge of the decimal number system, zero, algebra, trigonometry and binary came directly from the Hindus. A fact that he admits openly in the very first chapter of his book. This is not to denigrate the value of Al Khwarizmi’s contributions but to set the historical record straight and correct this erroneous lie that he was the father of Algebra, a claim that he himself never made. Hindus were practicing advanced algebraical concepts many centuries before Islam even came into existence. Khwarizmi directly learnt algebraic concepts from the work of Hindu mathematician Brahmagupta

🚨 A Victory for Education & Accuracy in Montreal! 🚨 CoHNA thanks @SPVM for updating their hate crime manuals to remove ‘drawing a Swastika’ as a hate crime and replacing it with the more accurate ‘graffitiing Nazi symbols.’ This small but critical correction reflects a more accurate understanding of history, since Hitler never used the word Swastika, always referring to his hateful symbol as the Hakenkreuz (Hooked Cross). It also reflects the Swastika’s sacred meaning and its clear distinction from the Nazi symbol of hate. Over the past several months, CoHNA Canada’s Quebec chapter has worked closely with SPVM’s Hate Crimes and Incident Unit to ensure this correction was made. We deeply appreciate their openness, cooperation, and commitment to fostering cultural awareness and religious literacy in law enforcement. Importantly, this update sends a strong message: if it is the Hakenkreuz, it should be reported as a hate symbol—but if it is the sacred Hindu Swastika, it should not be mischaracterized or reported as hate. A few months ago, @PeelPolice made a similar correction after multiple Hindu organizations including CoHNA, led by @JainCanadian, appealed to the department to remove the word ‘Swastika’ in the context of hate. During Kargil war, West and its proxies strongly pressurized India to De-escalate. At the same time, they provided a huge $ 1.56 billion loan that helped Pakistan survive.
