Movie Shadow's design has a perfect balance of brooding sympathetic darkness and scrunkly cuteness, and I love it because it means you see the cool edginess during badass scenes but also see his pure and beautiful spirit during emotional scenes. Perfect Shadow design imo

Just enjoy your summers and the rest of your year at this point guys, it's obvious now that The Game Awards in December will be where we see the next mainline game or whatever they have planned to release next year with Sonic 4. Until then, expect very little in terms of news 👍🏻
P.S. We know many of you are eager for future Sonic updates. We won't be covering everything in this livestream, but we're excited to hang out with you on the 23rd!

The event on the 23rd will likely "reveal" Frontiers Definitive Edition as well as the last 3 Sega characters for Crossworlds Year 1 DLC, maybe something IDW related and such. Other than that, I'd keep expectations very low until December at this point

They don't *have* to remake the games from scratch, just give us ports/a collection of the 2000s games, it can't take that much resources and time to make simple ports as long as it's done in-house and not outsourced like Colours Ultimate was

Sonic Team Head Takashi Iizuka says he would like to see every Sonic game available on modern consoles, but given the cost of making that happen (not just porting, but remaking), the team would rather focus on new experiences.
He also said if people continue purchasing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and buying the year 2 content, he mentioned a possible year 3.

Fandom will have you believe toxic negativity doesnt exist and it's only toxic positivity, yet a lot of quotes & replies to this are calling him a slop consumer or insinuating it just bc he said the model looks fine in moments, never even said he doesnt want the model changed btw

Iizuka said that everything they revealed at SGF (CrossWorlds DLC, Sonic Pico Park) have one similar thread that tie them together. That thread is “to have fun together, to experience these fun games with your friends. And that’s really what we want to do for the 35th anniversary, it’s one of the key experiences we want to have.”
They also tie the Live concert to this, “and there’s going to be other experiences we want our fans to get excited about being a part of.”

RUMOR: Reliable sources close to Sonic City have tipped that a new Sonic Central will be announced for Sonic’s anniversary month!
The presentation is said to be around 1 hour long and feature game announcements and upcoming collaborations.

I definitely don't want them to reveal the next mainline game until they feel ready to, but still I think they should have at least something substantial planned for the anniversary and of course there's still a good chance that they do. Here's hoping for a Sonic Central soon 🙏🏻
