In the same interview, when asked which Sonic game he would remake if he could, Takashi Iizuka said he would want every Sonic game available on modern platforms if he could โmagically do it.โ
However, he also noted that remaking an older Sonic game would take the same kind of effort as making a brand-new title, and he would rather focus on creating new experiences.
This lines up with his previous comments on the possibility of a Sonic Adventure remake.
