Great achievement Cathie. I am pleased to say this was always the case in my Dads care home, Carrick House in Ayr. Welcome anytime day or night and always a partner in care. So glad to see that care homes across Scotland must now ensure this happens for those closest to residents
A huge thank to everyone who helped us ensure people’s closest relatives are not simply visitors to care homes but an essential part of their care. #notjustavisitor

Couldn’t agree more @BrianwDolan Absolutely diabolical treatment of this woman!!
This, not for the first time, is the kind of appalling abuse that @DrJessTaylor receives unremittingly. The bit I'm struggling with is how, when faced with evidence of such violent misogyny the GMC (or any regulatory body inc the NMC or HCPC) only issues a 2 year public warning?

I debated talking about this at all, but I am sick of always staying quiet about the abuse I am subjected to for my work. GMC have issued a 2 year public warning to Dr Ahmed Huda for posting on social media that I need to be ‘fcked in the a-se with a barbed pole’. He still hasnt actually apologised to me; and still works as a psychiatrist in the NHS.

Couldn’t agree more Charlotte. Devolved nation CNO role can be difficult but, opportunity to provide sound professional advice is significant.
CNOs in Devolved administration have a different relation with Government and in my view being co located in dept of health is a major difference.

I hope they get in touch soon! The people of England deserve for this plan to be implemented properly. Without the expertise from all the players in the healthcare team that will not happen.

I sincerely hope that is not the case. In Scotland at a government level I always felt my advice, that of the CNO and RCN were heard, were welcomed and were listened to, by; civil servants, the director general and by Cab Sec. High quality service provision is a team sport.

Interesting article but most of solutions have been around for 20 years, not least in Kerr report I commissioned including shift to community, centralisation where merited and separation of elective.Would add prevention and digital(as Streeting)but private bound to be marginal here
New. Reform of the NHS in Scotland has been much discussed, but despite warnings from @AuditorGenScot and others, the pace of change has seemed glacial. What's going on? A subject I explore today in a column for @heraldscotland heraldscotland.com/politics/…

Hope you get to see it soon, what a wonderful experience.
Most expensive hotel room on our India 🇮🇳 trip. Was supposed to be a special treat due to the balcony with stunning views of the Taj Mahal. Apparently it is there somewhere in the fog!

Seasonal reminder of critical importance If you diagnose a #carehome resident with an infectious respiratory virus on day 1 or 2 in hospital you MUST inform the #carehome ☎️ There is no magic system to alert them otherwise #datasaveslives #sharingcriticalresults #partnersincare
