ALT This is the 16th-century map of Tistla & Muchitlan, towns near the Mines of Zumpango and in the Bishopric of Tlaxcala, Mexico. The map combines the Indigenous painting tradition with the writing system introduced by the European. It accompanied the reports commissioned by Philip II (king of Spain) that now form part of the Relaciones Geograficas de Nueva España. It is held as part of the collection of Relaciones at the LLILAS Benson in the University of Texas at Austin.
