Tomorrow Friday 29 May is Make Way Day 2026. AOTI fully supports this important @DisabilityFed campaign. Public spaces belong to everyone. Cars on footpaths, bicycles illegally parked or bins left on footpaths are obstacles that can stop people with disabilities in their tracks.
Tomorrow is Make Way Day!!
A car on the footpath. A bin in the middle of the path. An A-board outside a café. Small things to most of us but barriers for wheelchair users, people who are blind, and others with mobility needs.
Get out, spot an obstacle, share it. #MakeWayDay26
Today is #MakeWayDay, an annual campaign led by the Disability Federation of Ireland, bringing communities together to highlight the needs for people with disabilities in the public spaces we share.

On 29 May, take personal responsibility, and share obstacles you see using #MakeWayDay26
We are at the @DeptCDE Estimates process for Budget 2027.
Among DFI's key focuses on the day will be greater transparency in the allocation and process around Estimates for our members and the organisations we represent.

Seven days. One simple ask.
On Make Way Day (Fri 29th May), take a photo of an obstacle on your street that makes life harder for disabled people, and post it with #MakeWayDay26.
This is not about blame. It's about awareness. Because public space belongs to everyone.
