Something exciting just happened: a #compute bridge between #Australia and #Canada. In a first test, the University of Southern Queensland and Distributive successfully sent computational results back from DCP Workers operating on the other side of the world.

Next, the teams will scale the cluster and onboard additional workloads. In a compelling twist, DCP also enables the University of Southern Queensland to sell idle compute capacity to nearby enterprises.

Enterprise buyers gain 2–3× lower-cost compute, the ability to redirect spend to local academic institutions, national compute and data sovereignty, and a low-cost path to capacity building. It’s a national win and a foundation for future #computeeconomics.

🧠 Perpetual Learning Continuous in-house model training for AI that evolves with your organization, powered by #DCP - compound benefits as AI models continuously retrain on new outcomes - eliminate model drift - data doesn't leave the building - no skyrocketing cloud costs

Compute economics is our thing. Here's an idea: redirect compute dollars spent on foreign hyperscalers to local schools, hospitals, and SMEs who have ample digital infrastructure that just needs to be pooled and distributed.

Distributive computing means workload orchestration with built-in business logic for metering and billing, across heterogeneous infrastructure owned by different parties! Ask us about secure, arbitrary code execution.

@a16z we're not able to keep up with demand.

This is the power of seamless interoperability between Python and JavaScript. Imagine how much time, effort, and money teams and companies could reinvest into improving their core product if they didn't have to maintain duplicate libraries in multiple languages.
We actually did save that much, and we're saving that much and more each year by not having to maintain a python version of our javascript library. Our end users can leverage our dcp-client.js library directly in their python projects thanks to pythonmonkey.

📣 Tell a university professor or researcher Announcing 💻 compute.for(ontario) 💻 , an initiative that unlocks abundant, free compute and matching grants for research computing at ontario academic institutions. What would you compute with 10,000 cores? 7,000,000 cores?

What if you could create your own computing cluster in a single-click with computers, phones, servers, and other bought-and-paid-for devices around your office / school / library ? 💻 You save a ton of 💰 by avoiding AWS, Azure, or GCP. Join the #DCP revolution 🙌

Thank you @CivoCloud for welcoming us on stage at Navigate Local Tampa! We couldn’t agree more with Mark Boost that there is something broken with the cloud; promises of untold savings have not materialized, and now 71% of companies are contemplating some form of repatriation.

We passionately discussed the topic of Compute Economics. Unlike in the ‘cloud-takes-all’ model, ‘distributive economics’ ensures that EVERY stakeholder in a multi-party digital ecosystem get a piece of the value pie.

Echoing Mark's points, it matters how and where your workload is executed as not all providers are equal. We illustrated how we are working with Civo partners Deep Green and Heata to create additional value beyond monetary gains - value built around community and sustainability.
