At the turn of the millennium I was handed a copy of XP Explained by Kent Beck. Every since I've been trying to work out better ways to develop software.
Once again the subject returned to legacy code and why us programmers treat it so badly. Someone once told me, "respect that legacy code, it pays our wages."
