I feel like this needs to be spelled out so a toddler can understand.
The idea behind a Faye game can work.
The context in which it’s being released is what is the underlying problem here.
I’m not talking about “blah teh womenz r bad” I’m talking in terms of production structure.
God of War 2018 had 4 years to get to Ragnarok, which finished the Norse Story (it should have been a trilogy but that’s another thing for another time.) Now fans have had to wait 5 years after that for… more stuff related to the Norse Saga through a spin off?
It feels stagnant, like we should be moving on already, but now we know they spend a bunch of time and money to keep the story spiraling in place.
The time to release a Faye game would be 1-2 years after Ragnarok, not when everyone has waited long enough to want to see Kratos again. Remember this game is not coming out this year, it’s coming out next year. That’s FIVE YEARS for a spin off and not even a mainline game.
This is a horrible content pipeline, especially since we have no telling when the next Kratos game is coming.
Unless the studio does some monumental 1-2 punch of releasing this game and then immediately releasing the next Kratos game, the longer it takes the Kratos game to come out people are going to wonder how much faster it could have been if they just focused their efforts and not made a spin off?
See where the issue is? But please call me sexist, you’ll feel correct about it I’m sure.
Jeez, it's almost like Kratos made it clear she was an absolute monster in combat and the only way to miss it all was to not be a real fan of the games and instead be a sexist pig
