We introduced the Federal Enhancement for Tactical Canine Help (FETCH) Act.
Police K-9s are not equipment. They are partners. They work alongside our officers every single day, putting themselves in harm's way to protect the communities they serve. Right now, many departments are left navigating uncertainty over what K-9 related costs qualify for federal support.
The FETCH Act cuts through the red tape and ensures K-9 related expenses can be covered under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. It allows departments to use this funding to cover everything from acquiring and training dogs to veterinary care, protective vests, housing, and retirement.
These dogs give everything. The least we can do is make sure they are funded and protected.
Back the blue and their dogs too.
