SEO for local service businesses is like owning prime real estate on Google that keeps sending you foot traffic for free. Crazy how many people still treat it as an afterthought.
As we head into the busy season for painting this year, I’m most bullish on our SEO.
We’re in the middle of:
- Getting a physical address verified
- Overhauling the website
- Building proper funnels into the site
Google leads have consistently been our highest-converting source of traffic.
The goal is to 2-3x organic leads this year and let it compound
I interviewed the owner of remotejobs•com on spaces.
He purchased the domain for $100k & its since paid for itself.
He recently declined a $1.5M offer for his business which passively earns 6 figures a year as a solo founder. Literally has 0 employees!
Very inspiring.
"Probably the best money I've ever spent. Saved our company."
Great story about the acquisition of Dupe(.)com
"It was ALL of our money, we gave them ALL of our money."
"We knew we needed a great name to stand out."
The power of a one-keyword .com domain is real.
We launched Anyone.com and ranked #1 on Google for “Anyone” in just 3 months.
Lesson:
• Exact-match .com
• Universal word
• Clear product-brand alignment
The right name turns SEO, trust, and memory into unfair advantages.

I love exact-match domains. I’ve got:
testimonial .to (ranks #1 for “testimonial”)
pdf .ai (ranks #1 for “pdf ai”)
And now I just added pdfparser .com to my collection ✌️
29 years I debated whether I could afford to spend $50K to buy the domain name I really wanted for Netflix (replay.com). I decided that was crazy money. Netflix it was.
Now they can afford to pay 70 Billion for something.
Who woulda thunk.
