They had their time.
But right now we are dead in the middle of their downfall. Individually, yet itβs all happening simultaneously, which is ironic.
No matter what they drop, music or otherwise, itβs received poorly.
Theyβve lost their cool factor. Itβs open season on clowning everything they do.
And itβs warranted.
Theyβre all stuck in unfavorable contractual deals, debt, lawsuits, scandals, etc.
And all the playing victim, crying and bitching that they do has turned the people against them.
Theyβve also never stood for anything so itβs hard to empathize with them.
Even a lot of their old catalog of music is aging terribly.
They had a good run, but itβs over.

I attended this show on Broadway, and an elderly woman in front of me was blatantly looking at the pics on her phone during the play. Quite annoying. π¬

Yesterday, during the Broadway play Joe Turner's Come and Gone, director Debbie Allen had to use the intermission to reprimand the audience for inappropriate laughter and cell phones ringing during the performance; Taraji P. Henson, who plays Bertha Holly in the play, spoke about the incident

Thatβs why every show is different. Youβve got to work through it. That cell phone ringing might make me throw my line. But I got to stay in character."
