Marlowe’s poem “The Passionate Shepherd to His Lover” came out in 1599 and got a response from Raleigh a year later. In October 2023, I sent in a redux of Marlowe’s poem to @DontsubmitLit and now I’m thankful to the latter for posting my redux of Raleigh’s response.
I don't fully get today's culture—I'm getting up in years/don't live in a bohemian young-person district—but I think key to Don't Submit!'s mission is that it just might print a neoclassical poem like this that breaks the news that one can say "Chemsex hymns and nectared slurs."
