In response to the systemic underrepresentation of Indigenous and Black faculty at @AcadiaU, the 16th CA includes cluster hires for three Mi'kmaw or Indigenous scholars and three African Nova Scotian / Canadian scholars. The job ads are now posted.

Le PM @francoislegault a affirmé au @le985fm qu’au Québec, pour former un psychologue, il faut 3 ans, soit un baccalauréat! L’Ordre rappelle que depuis 2006, l’exigence est un doctorat. Les psychologues sont des experts de l’évaluation (diagnostic) et du traitement psychologique.

I was just asked to be on The National to discuss Roe and abortion...and then I found out it would be a panel with a "pro-life/anti-abortion" voice. I am livid and sent this reply. I couldn't care less if this means I will not be asked back to the CBC. It needed to be said.

Being on my phone all day/night to manage @AcadiaFaculty Instagram account with @danlametti during the strike was not exactly my plan for Feb. but AUFA’s Communications team is 🔥 and I feel privileged to work with all of them 👇
I'm on AUFA's Communications team & TRUST ME you want to work w/ @thethingofitis @jsaklofske @DrASChampod @DrMoTheGeo @danlametti @ErinLCrandall et al. I had a mentally taxing job (managing Twitter). Social media is an isolating, draining monster. These folks made my days happy.

Yesterday, Acadia students received an email stating that the Board’s team has been in “regular contact” with the conciliator to “find a resolution”. The statement suggests that the board has made meaningful attempts to negotiate with AUFA. This is false.

Today marks Week 3 of @AcadiaFaculty strike. This press release says it all - the Board Team needs to return to the table & actually NEGOTIATE, not just give out ultimatums while sending emails to the students encouraging them to use this time to "relax". #AUFAStrike2022

The Board's team insists publicly that they are willing to return to the table. BUT their message to AUFA is that a new agreement - & an end to the strike - means accepting the Board’s terms. This is not a negotiation, & certainly not one that is taking place in good faith.

Happy International Day of Girls and #WomenInScience ! I look forward to my university’s Board negotiating a fair agreement with @AcadiaFaculty so that we can focus on doing science instead of constantly fighting for quality in higher education.
#WomenInScience are still underrepresented and struggle to get recognition for their achievements.
On 11 February, take a stand with UNESCO and UN Women to end gender bias that holds girls back from pursuing a career in #STEM!
