The power of rail! The rail industry, and third sector partners, set out on a symbolic journey to promote social mobility as we head towards GBR. We will positively impact a minimum of 5000 lives a year from less advantaged backgrounds👇 #SocialMobilityDay
⚛️ Yesterday leaders from Network Rail and DfT Operator - the government’s rail owning group - took part in a symbolic rail journey to champion #SocialMobility and inspire the next generation: ➡️ news.wmtrains.co.uk/pressrel… #STEM #GreatBritishRailways #BigBangFair @WestMidRailway

It's a good start... But it's not a silver bullet
I promised we would fix our broken railways. Today Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express return to public ownership. Run for the public good, not private profit. This Labour government is putting passengers first.

If my boys grow up to be like Jo and Kush from Race Across the World we will have done something right. They’re a brilliant antidote to Tate-style toxic masculinity: bright, kind, compassionate, emotionally intelligent, grounded, and culturally aware. PROPER role models for boys.

An unhelpful headline. This does NOT apply to @Se_Railway 👇
A "do not travel" alert has been sent to passengers in south-east England this morning due to "multiple incidents" on rail lines. More here: bbc.in/3LTum8y

DfT has published GBR consultation. It wants transport secretary setting strategic direction, GBR as directing mind, devolved governments and English mayors influencing and scrutinising, with a railway run for those who use it rather than own it but also run in public interest.
