The difference today isn’t in how good the superstars are but how much better men 4-15 are then ever in history

Wizards should definitely be calling the Knicks about that 24 pick. Or maybe waiting to see how the board falls but there should be some really intriguing guys there. Same with 31. Both would easily be worth packaging the later 2nds and a little bit more.

Speaking of this, I’d expect the Knicks to be receiving a lot of calls about their draft picks now that they’ve won, as well as the fact that the roster doesn’t need much. I also think they could take a shot on a guy like Koa or another developmental guy and provide him time and

They’ve got 2 really good picks for a champion also (#24 & #31) in this class that could possibly land you a late lotto level prospect or be some really good trade bait. If they can retain Mitch they don’t really need much either. Lots of room to take chances on youth.

a really solid foundation to develop. Might be able to go similar to the Brunson route being a young role player before breaking into a star role.

Randomly watching some old Elton Brand highlights (one of the more underrated players in basketball history) Wemby should be playing out of a similar area in the clutch. That little spin jumper would be unguardable and his playmaking/vision can shine. Second clip shows simplicity

Wow. Memphis immediately replaces their star guard. DP and Coward would be one of the scariest two way duos in the league in their primes. A healthy Edey makes a big 3 that could potentially compete with any.
Bill Simmons said tonight that the top of the upcoming draft is his current #1 storyline in the NBA. Said he’d bet anything that AJ Dybantsa goes #1 to the Wizards. Then doubled down on Cam Boozer going #2 to the Jazz and Darryn Peterson going #3 to the Grizzlies.

Becky Hammond was wrong but don’t get it twisted, the feat Brunson just pulled off is borderline impossible. -Isiah Thomas -Steph Curry -Jalen Brunson Point guards under 6’3” to be the best player on a championship team.

Brunson reminds me mentality wise to AI and no small guard has ever carried a team quite like he did during his run. It’s a borderline impossible thing to ask of anyone that small and even more so in todays game

Lot of credit to their teammates, coaches, and FOs. It pretty much takes a perfect combination of system and teammates to make it work. Something to keep in mind for the top guards in this 26’ class. But yes, you can win with one as your #1. But don’t draft with the expectation.

Greatest rookie performance in the finals since Magic Johnson
Dylan Harper tonight: 25 Points 5 Rebounds 4 Assists 10/19 FGM 31 Minutes Only a rookie — Did all he could. ✊

The era of no super teams has been pretty fun besides the tanking regular season. I do feel like Wemby and the Spurs will end up changing this but it’s never going to be an easy path.
Crazy era in the NBA

I can’t help but to think about AJ Dybantsa when watching Dylan Harper play. Both guys shot 70% at the rim on 170 attempts in college. That type of ability to get to the rim and finish at the rim is not normal.

Don’t let Jalen Brunson being a 2nd rd pick and a junior when drafted make you forget that he’s been that guy his entire life!!! And look who this game came against 👀👀🤯🤯

Ppl still can’t understand how almost impossible it is for a team to win a ring w their best player being under 6’3”??? I mean the only exceptions is 2 of the greatest players , not PGs but players to ever touch a basketball lol but if anyone else can it’s Brunson

Becky hammon said this about Jalen Brunson and folks wanted her banned from basketball talk lmao

Jalen Brunson has put together one of the best basketball resumes of all time. Remember that despite a 2nd rd pick, he’s not as big a Cinderella story as you’d think. GMs just slept. 5 Star McDonald’s All American. State Champion. College NPOY and 2x National Champion. Finals MVP

As what’s hopefully my final season being a fan of a non competitive team, I’d like to see the Knicks/Brunson win one. Would put him an Olympic gold medal away from an insane achievement in winning championships at the highest levels. Even with a loss he’s an all time winner.

Led his High School to their first state championship in school history, 2 college rings in 3 years (2 in one players career is damn near unheard of), and now the greatest Knick of all time/first ring in 50 years. All while being the shortest player on the court 99% of the time.

We’re legitimately getting FIVE Hall of Famers in just 2 drafts back to back years. At least 6-7 more all stars. Maybe more of both. Lots of good role players. Va These classes are why I became active on draft twitter in 2024 and made my first big board last year.

I need ppl to start respecting Dylan Harper. He’s right there with Flagg and the T3 from next draft. Hard for me to say any are clearly generational (DP the closest imo) and I see Harper as a guy who could win an mvp , finals mvp , and multiple all nbas and it not be surprising

Pretty spot on comparison. I expect a finals run from SA during Harper’s first contract for sure.
Dylan Harper on possibly coming off the bench for the Spurs: “James Harden was with the Thunder and came off the bench for 3-4 years waiting his turn… so everyone gotta wait for theirs.” Harper was the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. (via @7PMinBrooklyn)

Wemby makes some questionable decisions sometimes. Makes sense. Most players his age in this moment would. But like a half court pull up when you could’ve easily gotten an actual 3pt shot..with his stride lengths he should be damn near thinking layup with 4 seconds on the clock.

Stagger the minutes and keep allowing Harper to kill second units. They can all play together for stretches no doubt. best/finishing lineups probably have one of Harper or castle out for 3/D. Shouldn’t really be a big time issue imo.
