It’s ironic to see Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra sermonize about women’s rights. Perhaps they should first revisit their father Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy — the same Prime Minister who overturned the Supreme Court’s Shah Bano judgment, denying an elderly Muslim woman her rightful, meagre alimony under pressure from radical clerics.
The Congress that once bowed before hardliners continues down the same path —
❌ Opposed the abolition of Triple Talaq
❌ Maintains silence on Halala and polygamy
❌ Shows no interest in implementing a Uniform Civil Code, which would ensure Muslim women enjoy equal rights in inheritance and divorce, just like women from other faiths.
For the Congress, political appeasement always outweighs women’s empowerment.
It supports radical Mullahs at home, but questions a sovereign Republic’s right to act as per its social and religious framework — only because such actions strengthen India’s strategic position against Pakistan, the global hub of terrorism.
When it comes to standing for women’s dignity or national sovereignty, the Congress’s hypocrisy is unmatched.
Mr. Modi, when you allow the exclusion of women journalists from a public forum, you are telling every woman in India that you are too weak to stand up for them.
In our country, women have the right to equal participation in every space. Your silence in the face of such discrimination exposes the emptiness of your slogans on Nari Shakti.
