Everyone who ever plays Northern Ontario playdowns talks about how low-key good Sandy MacEwan is. And now he’s going to the Brier and World #8 John Epping is not. Insanity

Here’s what I think will happen. Republicans are going to mistake this win as an endorsement of their extremist agenda, when it was actually about inflation and part of global anti-incumbency trends. They will overreach, repulse the public, and Dems will win in 2026 and 2028.

Can’t blame racism on this one. Democrats need to understand that economic suffering is what drove this result, not racism or sexism.

No more chasing Republican voters. No more chasing moderate voters or pretending to be centrists. It does not work. Dems MUST accept economic populism and embrace the working class. It will be our only way out of this mess.

One silver lining is that a second Trump term will likely yield enough outrage from the left to create new movements and energize some type of resistance (like in 2018 when AOC won).

Dems have spent the past 8 years destroying the one movement that could have saved them. Bernie's class first populism won over exactly the type of voters (Latinos, working class, bros, Joe Rogan!) that Dems now repel. dropsitenews.com/p/bernie-wo…

I’mma say the hard thing. Kamala Harris did not lose the election because of racism and misogyny. That was a negligible reason at best. Rashida Talib, Ilhan Omar, and Summer Lee all won their seats in swing states VP Harris lost. Sit with the real reasons why she lost.

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

The democrats have to rebuild from the ground up and refocus on the basics. Being a champion for working class folks, and concentrating their entire agenda and messaging on this. Bernie was making strides with the very same demographics that Trump won in 2024 with his populism.
Replying to @WorkingFamilies
It’s clear from last night’s results that we’ll only get to victory by building a coalition of everyday working class people of all races. The exit of working class voters from the Democratic Party didn’t start this election cycle. It’s been going on for years.

Some are, but most of them are just suffering economically, home ownership seems unreachable, and their government doesn’t do enough to materially improve their lives. So, they turn to an unconventional man in hopes for change. I personally disagree, but millions voted for him.
I don’t get it. Are Americans just like… really really really really really really fuckin’ dumb?

Gen Z is not further to the right. They are growing up in a world that’s unaffordable, where home ownership seems impossible, where student debt is crushing them, and cost of living is sky high. The current democratic party hasn’t done enough to improve their lives!
Gen Z is indeed further to the right than millennials. And it’s not just gen z men.
Community note
Gen Z mainly voted in favor of Harris during the 2024 election. In fact, Gen Z maintains the highest rate of support for Harris compared against other age groups. NBC nbcnews.com/politics/2024-… CNN edition.cnn.com/election/2024/…
