Update 2) 40 min into the incident at 38th and International. This is a defensive operation as the fire had fully engulfed the second floor as first alarm crews were initially arriving. Approximately 40 firefighters on scene, no reports of injuries at this time.

Update 2) Incident Commander has placed the incident UNDER CONTROL at 1:02am. Cause of this fire is under investigation. Oakland Police continues to provide traffic control along International blvd as crews continue to work the interior of the building mitigating any hot spots.

On December 9, 2024, at 2:43 AM, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to a RV fire in the 35000 block of Sheridan Court in Newark. Firefighters worked for over an hour to extinguish a fully involved RV that extended to a two-story home. No injuries reported.

Re: Saugus Shooting. Some media outlets are reporting there are 3 deceased students. That is incorrect. There are 2 deceased students, one male, one female. The shooter (subject) as of 3 p.m. is still listed in grave condition. The other students injured are in stable condition.
