The Pale Sands performance space by
@CONCCREET is one of the more awe-inspiring spectacles that I've seen in
#VRChat, & it's also one of the hottest tickets on the platform. Imagine a vastly expansive overlook of sand dunes that are sort of being directly projection mapped or at least indirectly have light reflected from VJ's like
@_felixyung,
@__iggi, &
@_sSilent who input 2D input signals floating on a plane in holographic space. Then sometimes
@some_big_jerk operates more 3D shaders within the "Creature" that have more of a volumetric effect of modulating space that's only possible within VR. The end result is like the next generation of the Light & Sound movement that interrogates the impact of light as an artistic medium within spatial contexts. In this case, it's using artificial lighting effects in VR, but nonetheless these lighting effects bring a really deep sense of plausibility and sense of environmental presence that is utterly mind-blowing. I was transfixed for hours last night watching it. This experience was scouted by
@mikecsalmon for the
#VeniceImmersive Worlds Gallery & selected by the curators Liz & Michel. I was thrilled to be able to get an early look last night, and I'll be diving more into the history of VJ'ing in the clubbing scene in VRChat within the next couple of weeks unpacking more amazing volumetric VJing trends in the clubbing scene from projects featured at
