It was pretty special being at the launch event in only my second week of working at #EUMETSAT. I'm very excited to get stuck into flying this magnificent spacecraft! #MetopSGA1

Goodbye @esaoperations! After nearly 20 years working at #ESOC it's time for me to move on to a new challenge. So many memories in this control room. Safe mode recovery on Mars Express, end of mission on Venus Express, getting Solar Orbiter to the sun, getting Hera past Mars...

Again @NASAVoyager shows us how good spacecraft operations makes all the difference to mission success - the ability to go back and re-examine a problem. Flexibility and ingenuity at billion-mile distance. Brilliant. Well done @NASAJPL! jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasas-voya…

Congratulations to the teams at @esaoperations and @AirbusSpace who made this work. Also excellent use of monitoring cameras - spacecraft manufacturers take note! 😂
How cool is this⬇️ Watch as @esa Biomass's antenna deploys in space! Following liftoff, orbital injection acquisition of its first signal and satellite in-orbit checks, the successful deployment of Biomass’ mesh antenna reflector marks the final key step in the launch and early operations phase.

ALT Animated black and white sequence of a satellite antenna opening up in space. The footage shows a series of images of the different stages of the antenna opening from stowed to fully deployed. Just a week after its launch, ESA’s Biomass mission has reached another critical milestone on its path to delivering unprecedented insights into the world’s forests and their vital role in Earth’s carbon cycle – the satellite’s 12-metre-diameter antenna is now fully deployed. The photographs in this animated sequence come from a camera installed on the Biomass satellite and offer a rare glimpse into the action in space.

A stunning view of the partial #SolarEclipse from space! 🌒 Captured by @eumetsat's Meteosat-12 satellite, you can see the Moon’s shadow sweeping across Earth btwn 06:00 - 12:30 UTC 🛰 Unlike a total eclipse, part of the Sun remained visible - did you catch it from the ground?👀

Today at 10:01 CET the Sun was directly above Earth’s equator, marking the #SpringEquinox! 🌸 At this moment our planet is neither tilted towards nor away from the Sun, creating nearly equal day/night. 🌓 This stunning image was captured by Meteosat-12 earlier this morning. 🛰️

One of the great things @ESA_Hera 🛰️can do is look at objects in different wavelengths to learn unique things about them. The @JAXA_Hera's "TIRI" 📷 takes thermal images of Deimos 🪨 reveal a moon much hotter than the planet Mars 🔴 behind it. #HeraMission #science #HotToGo

This side of Deimos has never been seen in such detail before, because the tidally locked moon always faces the same side towards Mars, and the fleet of orbiters is "below" the moon's orbit looking up at it. @ESA_Hera flew past "above" it so snapped these unique pictures
