Yesterday, I met with the leadership of our licensed telecom operators at UCC House to discuss industry compliance and our collective responsibility towards Uganda's digital future. While we value the significant investments these operators make in network infrastructure and job creation, I emphasised that their market influence must be accompanied by accountability to the citizens of Uganda. Our telecom licenses represent a social contract, ensuring a secure, fair, and reliable communications environment. To foster a sustainable digital ecosystem, we must tackle the inefficient duplication of networks. The public is justifiably concerned about the clutter of competing network poles and wires in our spaces. I urged operators to swiftly embrace intelligent, shared infrastructure, which will lower capital expenditures and improve service delivery to underserved areas without compromising market competition. Security in communication channels and consumer trust is paramount. Under the Interception of Communications Regulations 2024, we are intensifying efforts against non-compliance, particularly regarding the unauthorised sale of SIM cards. Operators must enhance their verification processes to combat cyber threats, SIM-swap scams, and mobile money fraud. Bridging the urban-rural digital divide is both a moral obligation and a strategic priority. Most operators are currently falling short on coverage requirements, a situation that must change immediately. We advocate for transparent and sustainable pricing models that ensure connectivity is accessible and affordable for all. Effective regulation is essential for sustainable growth and public protection. @UCC_Official is committed to supporting operators through transparent oversight, focusing on delivering measurable outcomes for our country.

The journey has been one of service, sacrifice, learning and transformation. From advancing the East African Crude Oil Pipeline @EACOP_ and Tilenga and Kingfisher projects, to strengthening electricity generation and distribution, promoting renewable energy and unlocking opportunities in the mining sector, we have laid important foundations for Uganda’s industrialization and economic growth.

As discussed, the immediate priorities for our rural area are upgrading the local health center, extending rural electrification,extending water,more coffee production,Vocational education, increase in emyooga funds and proper use of PDM funds. I appreciate your commitment to lobby for our people in Masaka District.

What a truly unforgettable day! I had the incredible honour of welcoming H.E. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the Vice President Emeritus of Uganda, to my office at the Uganda Communications Commission. Let me tell you, this wasn’t just any visit. Beyond being a respected leader, H.E. Ssekandi has been a personal mentor to me for years. His unwavering support and wise words have shaped my journey and fueled my passion for leadership in ways I can hardly put into words. As we chatted yesterday, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. His insights, grounded in years of dedicated service to our nation, made me reflect on my own path and the kind of leader I aspire to be. Thank you, Your Excellency, for taking the time to connect with me. Your visit and our conversation were not just enlightening; they were a reminder of the power of mentorship and the difference one person can make in another's life.

Allow me express my deepest gratitude to you @UCC_ED for your visionary leadership at the helm of the Uganda Communications Commission. Under your stewardship, Uganda has continued to make remarkable strides toward an inclusive digital economy. God bless you Mutabani.

Ladies and gentlemen, the new Town Council Chairperson (2026 - 2031) Hajjat Zaina Nakidde began her term of Office last week. Kyanamukaaka Town Council welcomes the 1st and only Female Chairperson in the entire Greater Masaka Region.

We remain very grateful to @ESsekandi (Special Envoy- Office of the President/ H.E Emeritus VP) for being very instrumental in the elevation of Kyanamukaaka Town Council. The community expressed their appreciation by sharing their harvests with Office of the President.
