He came to DeFi from research science, bringing a PhD from the University of Melbourne with him, and went on to lead product and protocol development at Bancor — one of the pioneers of decentralized liquidity and onchain trading infrastructure.
Today, @MBRichardson87 is leading Carbon DeFi, @Bancor's flagship trading protocol, focused on strategy-based liquidity, capital efficiency, and MEV-resistant trading across Ethereum and other major ecosystems.
At ETHSofia, Mark will break down where current DEX and AMM designs reach their limits, introduce a new approach to exchange mechanism design based on pricing behavior, and explore what this could unlock for builders through new liquidity models and more predictable execution.

Klara Kovačević @klarakova is joining ETHSofia as a speaker!
She's Ecosystem Lead at @chain_security - the team auditing smart contracts for Circle, Sky, Aave, and Curve. Working at the intersection of security and community, connecting builders with the people keeping what they ship secure.
Before that, she spent time at Google's EMEA headquarters in Dublin, advising clients on digital growth and overseeing €20 million in annual advertising investments. She also serves on the board of Alice in Blockchains, working to make blockchain technology accessible to a wider audience.

Jonathan Riss (@allypry) is joining #ETHSofia as a speaker.
He's a Blockchain Intelligence Analyst at @CertiK, one of the leading security audit and intelligence firms in Web3. His work is on the OSINT and de-anonymisation side: tracing illicit flows on-chain, identifying malicious actors behind wallet addresses, and turning what looks like noise into actionable intelligence.
