The lawyer representing the man who shot and killed Ahmaud Arbery told jurors today his client tried to "de-escalate by showing force". I would think shooting someone is not de-escalation to an encounter you began, and to which you brought a loaded gun.

Conclusion from Assembly Judiciary Committee on @andrewcuomo’s book “American Crisis.” Work on the book by staff was NOT voluntary, despite claims otherwise from the former Governor.
Moreover, the time and effort spent on the book “detracted from their state duties.”
