#DidYouKnow?
For 67% of people in sub-Saharan #Africa, adopting #cleancooking solutions would require spending at least 10% of their income — a significant financial burden for many households.
This #highcost remains a major barrier to achieving widespread clean cooking access
#DidYouKnow?
Over the past five years, #Kenya and #Nigeria have each expanded #energyaccess to #cleancooking solutions by an average of 2.7% of their populations per year — a steady but slow pace given the scale of the challenge.

#DidYouKnow?
By 2040, #Africa’s share of the #globalmineral#refining#market is expected to be just 4%, despite the continent being rich in energy minerals.
Although Africa mines a significant portion of the world’s #minerals, it captures very little value from refining them.
#DidYouKnow?
In 2024, #Africa’s #energy minerals were worth about USD 50 billion at the #mining stage, but only USD 16 billion at the refining stage.
This means Africa captures just 32% of the value from #refining compared to what it earns from simply mining the minerals
#DidYouKnow?
In Africa, #privatesector investment in #cleancooking increased by 135% b/w 2019 & 2040, increasing from USD 17 bn to USD 40 bn
In 2023, there was USD 675 mn of direct investments in infrastructure, stoves, and fuel distribution hardware.

#DidYouKnow?
To achieve universal access to #cleancooking in #Africa🌍, an annual investment of ~USD 2 billion is required, a value less than 0.1% of #globalenergy investment.
These include upfront spending on fuel distribution networks, canisters & stove

#DidYouKnow?
In 2024, #China accounted for 75% (USD 818 billion) of the year-on-year growth in global #energytransition investments
#US investments accounted for 16.25% (USD 338 billion) while, investment from #EU and #UK dropped year-on-year.

I spoke with Anita Otubu, Senior Director, @UEF_com on the power of #ResultsBasedFinancing, how her team is adapting it to...
Africa🌍 has massive #RenewableEnergy potential—but still receives less than 2% of global #cleanenergy investment.
Why? And what needs to change to make the continent truly investment-ready?
