I had a job in Colombia where my boss called us all "negro", including me. He was in fact a negrero, but still no one seemed to mind.

The only reason the Argentinian told this to the other Colombian is because of FIFA sensitivities due to North-westernized world views being imposed into the rest of the world.
Im sure there are no problems with calling someone “negro” as nickname/word of endearment in Colombia
