I participated in the second validation workshop for the five policy briefs being developed in the area of Natural Capital Accounting. This work is part of @Makerere’s support to the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action and to Uganda the co-Chair of the coalition.

I hosted a Technical Working Group meeting on Natural Capital Accounting and climate-sensitive macroeconomic modelling. During the session, draft policy briefs on Natural Capital Accounts—focusing on forestry, energy, and biodiversity services—were presented and discussed.

@makerere has successfully concluded The First African Symposium on Natural Capital Accounting and Climate-Sensitive Macroeconomic Modelling held under the theme; Climate-Sensitive Macroeconomics: Rethinking Growth in Africa’s Natural Resource.
The two-day event was officially opened by Hon. Henry Musasizi -Minister of State for Finance (General Duties) -@mofpedU accompanied by Hon. Beatrice Anywar Atim, State Minister for Environment -@min_waterUg. The symposium was purposed to strengthen Africa's analytical and institutional capacity to integrate climate and natural capital considerations into macroeconomic and fiscal policy. Several stakeholders including policymakers, researchers, universities, think tanks, development partners including media participated.
