Great reporting here by @dharnanoor on fossil fuel industry allies' efforts to influence judges on climate - and to deflect by attacking an environmentally focused legal education non-profit called ELI, accusing IT of improper influence theguardian.com/us-news/2026…

Six years since the height of the pandemic, the scientific community remains baffled by long Covid. But there might finally be a way forward for long Covid treatment—if only you were allowed to talk about it. wired.com/story/the-painful-…

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opini…

I'm just gonna repost this tweet here — since WSJ clearly has a problem crediting other reporters’ scoops. 🙄 Not the first time. Happened when I reported Warsh was Trumps pick for the Fed too. But alas, here we are 🤷‍♀️
SCOOP: FDA chief Marty Makary's job is in jeopardy, as the WH considers an FDA shakeup. Two well-placed sources tell me he's likely to be axed in coming weeks — though, I'm told, nothing is final. (Worth noting: the WH's official line is still to stand by him, as I put in the story.) As WSJ reported yesterday, Makary has angered the president by slow-walking flavored vapes. But he's also upset MAHA and pro-lifers — two key parts of Trump's 2024 coalition — as well as top officials in the West Wing. The perception is that he pushes his own agenda, not the president's — and thus has gotta go. I'll be talking more about this on THE HUDDLE. A very illustrative and embarrassing example of the sort of fact checking some columnists are using AI for.
I asked Claude AI to compare the Hasan Piker audience to the cringe wine moms at MSNOW. "[O]n a normal night, MS NOW's primetime audience of roughly 900,000 is about 25 times larger than Piker's typical concurrent stream of 36,000."
