.@Ed_Ternan (president of @SongforCharlie) notes that most people don’t think about this issue until it happens to them personally. “Overcoming that human nature hurdle” is one of the challenges they face in preventing and mitigating #SUD.

🚨 **Did you KNOW?** 🚨 • Gen Z (ages 14-23) has the highest rate of fentanyl-involved drug deaths. • Fake prescription pills containing fentanyl are being sold across social media, disguised as legitimate meds. • Even drugs like cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, and meth are being laced with fentanyl without users knowing. Now that you KNOW, it’s time to act. 💡 Educating ourselves and our loved ones about the dangers of counterfeit pills can save lives. So proud of this work by our Oregon team and community partners.
📣 We have just released a new public service (PSA) campaign to raise awareness among parents and caregivers about the dangers of fentanyl and fake pills that are hurting our youth. The two PSAs, which feature nearly two dozen Oregonians (Oregon is disproportionately impacted by this issue), including high school students and parents. Learn more: bit.ly/4iiOHzs

Nearly 100 supporters, donors, and families impacted by the fentanyl crisis gathered at our recent partner appreciation events in Connecticut and New York City. In New York, SFC consultant Marcia Lee Taylor, as well as our partners Jennifer Stout from Snap and Jon Coyles from Major League Baseball, shared kind words about the work we’re doing together. Other notable attendees include Dr. Hina Talib, and drug policy expert Kevin Sabet. These gatherings sparked important conversations about end-of-year giving, corporate partnerships, and sustainable support for our mission. We were especially moved to reconnect with supporters who first joined us at a similar New York event two years ago—a testament to the lasting connections our mission continues to build. Special thanks to our hosts, Susan and Bill Lattimer, for making these events possible and so meaningful.
