Small-c conservative here: it’s difficult to dispute how PM @MarkJCarney appears to be seeking a reset with Canadians. Carney’s remarks this morning reflect a pragmatic policy agenda put forth by a competent individual. Much more so than we have seen out of Ottawa for some time. There will be countless opportunities over the next four years to debate and critique his government and evaluate how he approaches specific and complex challenges in real time. Actions, after all, speak louder than words. Major shifts are required on key policy issues like energy, public safety, public finance, and foreign policy (to name just a few). For now, I’m choosing to be cautiously optimistic and open-minded until I have a reason not to be. 🇨🇦
