On a professional level, I am proud to have been there at the beginning when President Trump — through sheer force of will —achieved the greatest political comeback in American history. On a personal level, I genuinely enjoy our friendship. He’s an awesome golfing buddy, who I have yet to beat. Well done, Mr. President, to you and all those involved in this action to take out Niño Guerrero, the leader of one of the most vicious and deadly narcoterrorist groups in the world. This proves that we now have a great partner in Venezuela and it reinforces your commitment to break the backs of these narcoterrorist organizations operating in our backyard. The people of Venezuela and the United States are safer tonight.

Border Security is National Security. We will never forget the countless victims murdered and assaulted by illegal alien criminals that were let into this country during the Biden-era INVASION. As Senate Budget Committee Chairman, I fought hard to pass President Trump’s Secure America Act. Not a single Democrat voted for the Secure America Act ! With nearly $70 billion dollars that Republicans passed, the brave men and women of @ICEgov and @CBP now have the resources they need to keep our border secure.

To the Republican primary voters of South Carolina, thank you for placing your trust in me as your nominee for U.S. Senate. Here’s how I am going to pay you back:

I am very glad to hear from @POTUS that Iranian media reports about the so-called deal are fake because the deal as described by Iran would be awful. President Trump and our military deserve a lot of credit for making Iran the weakest they’ve been since 1979 through a combination of highly effective military strikes and a crushing blockade. However, we must remember the Iranian regime has killed 42,000 of their own people for simply wanting a better life, and their leadership are radical religious Nazis.  As to any potential deal, it must be compared to the JCPOA, and I am hopeful that it will be vastly different. The idea of a $300 billion reconstruction fund, given who is in charge of Iran, seems to be tone deaf. It would be akin to a Marshall Plan for Germany with the Nazis still in charge. That wouldn’t have been a good idea then, and any reconstruction fund that benefits this terrorist regime wouldn’t be a good idea now. As to the Iranian nuclear program, President Trump’s red line has been no enrichment. I hope that holds — as it must. Allowing Iran to enrich under the JCPOA was one of the major flaws of that terrible deal. As I’ve stated before, any deal with Iran must come to Congress for scrutiny and approval.

Outstanding choice by President Trump to nominate Jay Clayton to be the new Director of National Intelligence. He has real-world experience, the complete confidence of the President and has performed every task in the public and private sectors in an exemplary manner.   I look forward to making sure that Jay is confirmed and can take on his responsibilities ASAP.

I hope we have in fact reached a diplomatic solution to end the Iranian conflict that will meet President Trump’s red lines and be fundamentally different from the JCPOA. As in the past, any agreement reached with Iran related to their nuclear program will be presented to Congress for review and approval. I look forward to that process.

If my Democrat opponent had it her way, boys would play girls’ sports, the SAVE America Act would never pass, and Kamala Harris would be president. In November, voters will show her those values have no place in South Carolina.

If there is no deal soon Mr. President, you are right to put on the table the taking of Kharg Island. I very much appreciate @POTUS and his team going the extra mile to obtain a diplomatic solution to the Iranian conflict. It is apparent to me that the regime is not a reliable partner in these negotiations and that at every turn they create provocation believing it gives them more leverage. President Trump’s announcement today that it may be time to take Kharg Island is welcome news and would be the ultimate game changer. The combination of continuing to force the Strait open and at the same time controlling Kharg Island’s operations by force or blockade would be the most consequential move President Trump could make, regaining the dominance and leverage America needs to end this conflict on favorable terms. Time is of essence.

I applaud my House Republican colleagues for their swift passage of the Secure America Act. Despite Democrat efforts to shut down ICE and Border Patrol, Republicans have now fully funded these agencies through President Trump’s entire second term to the tune of nearly $70 billion. Thanks to President Trump, our border has gone from its weakest point to its most secure point in less than two years. This bill fulfills the mandate given to us by the American people and ensures we won’t go back to the failed immigration policies of the Biden Administration.
