✈️ A historic moment for the X-59 and NASA's Quesst mission. Watch the moment the X-59 exceeded the speed of sound for the first time ever, marking a major milestone on the path toward demonstrating quiet supersonic flight over land. The display shows Mach 1.07, but the aircraft is actually at Mach 1.0. The difference comes from the system's calibration, which makes the shown value slightly higher than the true speed. The calibration will continue fine-tuning as we expand the X-59's flight envelope. Learn more: go.nasa.gov/3S9qToV #NASA #X59 #Quesst

Most VTOL drones sacrifice efficiency for flexibility. Multirotor aircraft generate lift entirely through propellers, even in forward flight. That means continuous thrust, continuous energy draw. Tilt-wing matters because once in cruise, the wing carries the aircraft, not the rotors. And as @NASA explains, aerodynamic efficiency is defined by the lift-to-drag ratio. According to the @FAANews, a typical light aircraft achieves glide ratios of 9:1 to 15:1, demonstrating how dramatically wing-borne lift reduces energy demand in forward flight. Tilt-wing architecture combines: • Vertical takeoff and landing • Aerodynamic lift in cruise • Improved range per kWh • Higher payload efficiency over distance For operators, this means longer missions, more payload delivered per flight, and lower energy consumption per kilometer, key factors when turning drone logistics into scalable operations. Efficiency is not a feature. It’s physics. Explore the Aero-200 on our website: dufour.aero/aero-200 #Aviation #VTOL #DroneTechnology #Logistics #Innovation

Flight testing alone is not enough to develop reliable hybrid-electric systems. To better understand how components behave over time, validate control systems, and reduce development risk before flight operations, Dufour Aerospace has built a dedicated test container for hybrid powertrain development. The setup includes: • A hybrid system bench representative of the propulsion architecture • Battery cycle testing infrastructure for evaluating different cell technologies • Dyno setup for electric motor characterization • Automation infrastructure for representative endurance testing By running long-duration tests over tens of hours, the team can analyze efficiency, thermal behaviour, component aging, system reliability, and control logic under controlled conditions that would be difficult or impractical to reproduce during flight operations. All test platforms are connected to a central control room, enabling parallel testing and a high degree of automation. This shortens development cycles, reduces reliance on external testing facilities, and provides direct access to operational data needed to improve reliability, safety, and certification readiness. At Dufour Aerospace, we recently completed a full flight from takeoff to landing using our Unified Velocity Controller (UVC) with GNSS denied. In most drone systems, losing GNSS means losing reliable position and velocity estimates. This typically leads to degraded flight performance, increased pilot workload, or mission interruption. During this flight, the Aero-30 maintained stable control throughout, including transitions between hover and forward flight, without requiring GNSS data for stable flight control. To achieve this, the system combines multiple onboard data sources, including wing-tilt sensors and visual odometry, which estimates movement by analysing camera images, to maintain accurate airspeed and ground speed even when GNSS is unavailable. From an operational perspective, this directly addresses a key limitation in current drone operations: • Missions can continue in GNSS-denied environments instead of being aborted • Hover and transitions remain stable without external positioning • Pilot intervention is reduced during critical phases of flight This is particularly relevant for operations in urban areas, mountainous terrain, or environments where GNSS signals are unreliable or intentionally disrupted. This is a step toward systems that can operate consistently in real-world conditions, not just ideal ones. If you are working in environments where GNSS is not guaranteed, learn more: dufour.aero #eVTOL #AAM #AerospaceEngineering #FlightTesting #AutonomousFlight #DroneTechnology #DufourAerospace

Florida just passed a groundbreaking air taxi bill. Here’s what it does: Exempts eVTOL aircraft from FL sales and use tax Authorizes FL DOT to fund a portion of vertiport project costs Requires FL DOT to expedite approval of vertiports Preempts local governments from regulating vertiport design Prevents local governments from regulating eVTOL charging stations This bill helps reduce uncertainty, expedite approvals and move things forward efficiently.

Yesterday marked International Pilots’ Day, a moment to recognise the people who inspire everything we do. Horizon Aircraft was founded by pilots, and the Cavorite X7 is being built by pilots. That perspective shapes our commitment to safety, performance, and real-world practicality every day. To pilots everywhere, including our own, thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and passion. Remote communities and industrial outposts deserve the same level of critical service as urban hubs, but harsh terrain and long distances make traditional logistics costly, slow, and unpredictable. That’s why we’re designing Aero-200: a hybrid-electric tilt-wing platform built to connect the unconnected with cost-effective, reliable supply missions. Our aircraft features: 🔸Full VTOL: No runway required, perfect for isolated areas. 🔸200 km range with 20 kg payload with room for more: Carry critical supplies over long distances. 🔸Sustainable hybrid-electric power: Reducing emissions even in challenging environments. 🔸Swiss-engineered reliability: Designed for real-world operations in rugged conditions. 🔸Smart integration with existing systems: Optimize logistics across the supply chain without replacing infrastructure. Whether it’s medical supplies to mountain villages, spare parts to offshore platforms, or daily necessities to remote industrial camps, Aero-200 delivers when roads and runways don’t. 👉Learn how Dufour Aerospace is revolutionizing logistics from above: dufour.aero #Aero200 #aviation #droneindustry #Swissengineering #VTOL
