This weekend I wrote ~5k words on the new NC abortion law. This is the most detailed analysis you will find - including explaining what has changed and contextualizing that info. I’ve never written something I so desperately want people to read. oldnorthstatepolitics.com/20…

Late breaking at #SGOMtg: In patients with advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer, the addition of pembrolizumab to standard chemotherapy resulted in significantly longer progression-free survival than chemotherapy alone. nej.md/3FJ4J3R

Checkpoint inhibition has had limited efficacy in high grade epithelial cancer. So proud of @pammiepeters and her work evaluating MEM-288, a novel oncolytic adenovirus, demonstrating efficacy and generating a systemic immune response. #SGOMtg @dukeobgyn #PatientsPurposeProgress

Congrats to @DukeMedSchool’s @LindaM_Zambrano and her important work highlighting funding to lethality scores in patients with cancer. Despite its increase in mortality, #uterinecancer remains underfunded. This work informs policy change, advocacy and equitable funding. #sgomtg

I am disheartened to learn that the 20 week abortion ban has been reinstated in NC. Once again we see the removal of rights and freedom opposed to preserving them. This Midterm Election is the most important in our lifetime. We will continue to fight. #ncpol

The assault on reproductive freedom is atrocious for most people, but Black women are more likely to seek abortions, more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes, and more likely to be criminalized & imprisoned for their pregnancy outcomes. Then the state violence spreads.
