Exactly 111 years ago today @cunardline’s RMS #Lusitania should have berthed in #Liverpool from #NewYork but was sunk off #Ireland. Her only part to reach here was a propeller retrieved from her wreck by Dr Robert Ballard who also found #Titanic’s wreck.

Last lifeboat away from @cunardline RMS #Lusitania after being torpedoed 111 years ago today off #Ireland en route from #NewYork to #Liverpool as painted by the amazing Ken Marshal. RIP the 1200 innocent souls lost in this tragedy.

Let's restore the #Beatles Salvor ship's mast behind the #Fab 4 to celebrate #Liverpool #European Capital of Culture in 2028 after it was pointlessly chopped down by #LiverpoolCityCouncil and dumped for scrap. See my campaign elsonshippinglines.com/sos-b…

Great news all 4 #Cunard Queens will visit #Liverpool in 2028 but I recall the 3 Queens 2015 event & sailing to #Guernsey with colleague Tony McDonough @tonymc39 and dropping my phone overboard from a tender. A sweet Thai stewardess said ask the man steering to go and find it!

The Unsinkable Molly Brown of the sinkable #Titanic presented a silver cup to Capt Arthur Rostron whose #Cunard ship #Carpathia rescued all 712 souls from the #WhiteStarLine tragedy. His descendants of Crosby #Liverpool told me instead of one keeping it they’d sell, raising £129k

Believed to be the last photo of #Titanic afloat as she leaves #Queenstown (Cobh) to meet her destiny 114 years ago today colliding with the #iceberg. Taken by 1st class passenger Kate Odell who disembarked after Titanic’s maiden voyage first leg from #Southampton #WhiteStarLine

High up in RMS #Titanic’s crow’s nest young #Liverpool born lookout Frederick Fleet 114 years ago tonight enjoyed ‘the beautifullest night I’d ever seen. The stars were like lamps.’ He was first to spot the iceberg turning that magic night into tragedy. #WhiteStarLine #iceberg

Dedication to #WhiteStarLine Chief Officer Henry Tingle Wilde of #Titanic, killed in the sinking, on his wife’s grave in Kirkdale Cemetery #Liverpool. Allegedly he wrote from #Queenstown to his sister ‘I have a queer feeling about this ship’. His body wasn’t recovered. #iceberg

Domino effect: If #WhiteStarLine flagship RMS #Olympic left hadn’t collided with HMS Hawke and dropped a prop blade needing repair and parts from nearly complete sister ship #Titanic right in #Belfast delaying her maiden voyage by 3 weeks she’d have missed the #iceberg #liner

Exactly 114 years ago today while RMS #Titanic was anchored here at Queenstown (Cobh), her final port call ever, superstitious passengers claimed the ‘Angel of Death’ appeared on her aft dummy funnel. Actually it was a stoker enjoying the view. And yet… #WhiteStarLine #Liverpool
