Sharing a very short paper that I wanted to write up for many years which showed biochemical evidence that UndP sequestered with altered sugar structures are trapped at the cystosolic face of the membrane due to ineffective Wzx activity. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

...some prophage encoded genes (not defences) under standard LB conditions, despite the prophage being cryptic and unable to propagate... kind of suggests some of their genes have been co-opted for host biology (who knows🤷‍♀️) - We detected ~2-3 mini proteins encoded within rRNA...
