What's happening in LA is extremely abnormal. How did Spencer Pratt go from a 77% chance of advancing to now a 0.5% chance? California is now blocking the Feds from checking into the election. Prior to the election in May, Governor Newsom signed SB 73. This law, effective immediately before the June 2 primary, prohibits unauthorized access, disruption, modification, or seizure of voter rolls, voter lists, or certified voting technology by law enforcement (including federal agents) without a court order or specific state election law investigation. The precedent President Trump set today is a very dangerous one. The fact he blocked Israel from retaliating against Iran weakened Israel deterrence significantly, signaled to Iran that limited attacks against Israel can occur with no price attached to it, and damaged US negotiating position. Should Israel now take into account that every significant action against one of Iran’s proxies means an Iranian retaliation, one that it can’t answer to because of Trump? The proxies themselves might also feel emboldened now to attack Israel knowing Iran is willing to get involved. And regarding the negotiations, Trump showed Iran that his desire to reach an agreement is above all else, something that feels pretty similar to the Obama years. One last point, I’m sure Iranian decision makers are also now thinking, well if we attacked Israel and Trump didn’t do anything, we can for sure keep targeting our neighbors with no worries of US actions.

It’s Day 100 of Trump’s heedless, unauthorized war in Iran. Let me say that again. It’s Day ONE. HUNDRED. 100 days of disregarding the checks and balances set forth by our constitution that give Congress the right to declare war. 100 days of rising gas prices straining working families. 100 days of spending trillions of American dollars on a war with no clear objectives. Enough is enough. End it. Now.
