Moving from rape culture to consent culture starts with education, accountability & open conversations Consent culture challenges rape culture by encouraging safer relationships & communities centered on the understanding that consent should always be clear, informed & ongoing

What is Rape Culture and what upholds it? The way sexual violence survivors' voices are overlooked while perpetrators are defended stems from rape culture-a culture built on normalizing and excusing sexual violence As a society, we must move from rape culture to consent culture

Pride Month is a time to celebrate love, identity, & diversity within our communities! As we celebrate, it is also important to recognize the strength & resilience of the 2SLGBTQ community, while acknowledging the disproportionate & systemic violence many continue to face.

The Supreme Court of Canada has recognized a new tort of intimate partner violence, allowing survivors to sue for damages related to coercive & controlling behaviour. This is a monumental moment for survivors, as well as gender equity & justice in Canada scc-csc.ca/judgments-jugemen…

Honoured to speak at @Embrave_ca’s 4th annual #Celebrave Gala last night in #Brampton along with Cllr @Navjitkaurbrar and Cllr @RoweSantos. It was an important evening to raise funds for Embrave and a recognition of the growing impact of their programs to help survivors of gender-based violence. We had 9905 calls for help to @PeelPolice last year for intimate partner violence. Gender based violence remains one of the leading causes of homicide in Canada. As a society, we must and we will do better. Supporting Embrave is one way to help!
