The whole Island is without electricity once again (not an exaggeration). Once again the health care system was caught unprepared.

Unbelievable. 5 years after hurricane Maria & Puerto Rico paramedics are yet again taking patients from 1 hospital, in this case the cancer center in San Juan, to another hospital because the backup generators are not working. 5 years later & we’re still talking about generators.

I received no mentorship when applying to Orthopaedic summer programs as an MS-1. After a fantastic summer experience, I felt the need to provide the incoming MS-1s with the tools they needed to navigate this process. A big thanks to my classmates who helped make this possible!

🙏 prepare before the OR (if you need help with HOW, ask your resident for advise)
🤓 bring your gloves to the scrub tech and introduce yourself to the team
