So glad to welcome back the brilliant @NickBryantNY for our *50th* episode! What even is time? Really proud of the community we’re building with After America. And very lucky I get to do it with the best producer in @AngusBlackman.
Donald Trump isn’t an aberration – he’s as much a product of US history as JFK or Barack Obama. "Pretty much all of what he's done has an historical echo...although I was surprised about those poor penguins." @NickBryantNY joins @EmmaShortis on the 50th After America ep. 🎧⬇️

Part of the AUKUS deal involves Australians crewing submarines sailing under a US flag. If Trump decided to take the US to war, the Australian government would have to actively delay American deployment to get those Australians home. @EmmaShortis #auspol

Insecurity in the US/Australia relationship explains a lot about the AUKUS submarine deal, which is a symptom rather than a cause of the relationship. 🎙 International & Security Affairs Director Dr Emma Shortis @EmmaShortis #auspol
