Did you know that your business's profitability goes beyond mere product cost verses sales? Have you remembered to pay yourself a separate salary from the business profit? Have you considered ALL business expenses, from major costs like rent and utilities to easily neglected costs like transport and software? Have considered taxes, licences and registration costs? All these financial aspects must be included in your #businessplan. #Empretec

Always verify your research! Extensive research is the foundation of a compelling business plan. Although shortcuts like Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be used for faster results, ensure you cross check all your information to have accurate facts. In your opinion, what is the most reliable information source when researching about a potential #business? 🤔 #Empretec

So what's a business plan in the first place? 🤔 A business plan is a document that describes the objective of a business & which steps should be taken to make the goals achievable, reducing risk & uncertainty. #Empretec #businessplan

Day 3: On today's GROW Project training at the Jinja Trade Show grounds, we focused on transforming challenges into commercial ventures. Today, participants transitioned through Module 2 & 3, concentrating on Customer satisfaction & Identifying and validating of new business opportunities. The women entrepreneurs were engaged in a practical market mapping exercise. This task requires each participant to look within their own community to identify gaps in service or product delivery. By the end of this session, each woman will have identified potential new revenue streams that address specific needs within Jinja & surrounding districts. #BEST_GROW_Jinja #GROW_Uganda #WomenInBusiness

Day 2 at the Jinja Trade Show grounds. Our Essential Skills Workshop (ESW) under the #GROWProject is officially underway, equipping incredible Jinja women entrepreneurs with tools to scale their businesses. A massive thank you to the Jinja Local Government officials whose vital support brought this training to life! In light of the ongoing Ebola situation, we have strict precautionary measures in place, handwashing stations, regular sanitizing, limited bodily contact, and dedicated medical officers on-site conducting health checks for everyone. #WomenInBusiness #EnterpriseUganda #Jinja #WomenInBusiness #Grow_Uganda

Last week, we had the privilege of leading a follow-up and evaluation exercise for the DREEMHUB Project in Nakaseke District. Earlier in April, we conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) for 29 Enterprise Group Leaders who collectively lead close to 1000 women & youth across the district. During this follow-up visit, our primary objective was to assess the progress of the training cascade and gather feedback from Enterprise Group members on the training they had received from their leaders. The findings were both encouraging & insightful. Several groups had successfully commenced cascading the training, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to knowledge sharing. While some groups faced challenges in implementing the cascade, the experience provided valuable lessons that will strengthen future mentorship & support efforts. #PDMChangingLives #agribusiness @Heifer @PDMSecretariat

One of the most common inquiries we receive from clients is: "How can I start a business without capital?" To that, our response is: "Are you sure that you don't have capital?" Often, we neglect the different ways we can take advantage of our surrounding resources to get capital to start or grow our businesses. Do you have any item, no matter how small, that you can sell? That's capital. Do you have any regular expense that you can downgrade? That's capital. Do you have any family or friends who could invest in your business? That's capital. Do you have any profitable skills? That's capital. Watch the video to hear Bright Levi, one of the participants in last month's Business and Enterprise Start-up Tool (BEST) Training, share his views on this topic! #capital #businesscapital

Join us online for a session led by @CynthiaKinyera to learn how entrepreneurs can use their personal platforms strategically to strengthen company brands, build credibility, attract opportunities, and drive business growth. “Fixed income feels comforting but the real power comes from effort, discipline, and resources you build by investing it.” - Mr. Charles Ocici, Director General Enterprise Uganda. Such was the message from today’s Dual Career Entrepreneurship training session for public servants from different MDAs, where we tackled the shift from employment to entrepreneurship and how to walk the journey early, so it’s not your first attempt in retirement. We confronted the ‘no time’ excuse, along with topics such as personal finance, multiple income streams, and mindset change, among others. #DualCareer #Entrepreneurship #PersonalFinance #MindsetShift

We had a spectacular time in Namutumba during last week's Essential Skills Workshop (ESW) for the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project. The GROW Project is headed by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development & funded by The World Bank. It supports women entrepreneurs in achieving financial independence by providing loans, apprenticeships, and financial literacy. Through the ESW, Enterprise Uganda educates these enterprising women on how to correctly run their businesses. #GROW_Uganda #WomenInBusiness
