This is a really interesting observation. It's easy to mistake effortful thought for critical thought. Spending a lot of time thinking without considering if you might be wrong is counterproductive b/c it *feels* like you're putting in effort to seek the truth but simply aren't

Science is biased against my anti-scientific dogmatism!
Every time I post a new study showing that university indoctrination does not happen (and there's usually one every 2-3 months), I get the same stubbornly dismissive range of responses. People just don't want to believe it. They refuse.
