ALT The e-commerce boom raises new challenges as retailers and couriers innovate their supply chains to keep up with demand. Last-mile delivery, the segment which starts at the last distribution centre and ends at the customer's doorstep, is particularly affected: couriers now handle many small parcels instead of fewer, larger shipments; they deliver during tight time windows when customers are at home; they deal in real-time with newly incoming orders while their fleet is already busy shipping other parcels. The volume growth in deliveries has also raised concerns, especially in dense urban environments where the externalities (traffic, emissions, noise, congestion) have become noticeable.

ALT The aim of this workshop is to bring together like-minded scholars from different disciplines (management control, IS, human resources, organization studies, etc.) in order to advance the study of control with a particular emphasis on the roles of time and temporality. Control dynamics in turbulent environments are of particular interest: in so-called VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) contexts, during crises or in disruptive environment (due to radical innovations, new business models...).

ALT In the pressing battle against climate change, reshaping transportation emerges as a pivotal frontier. Cost-effective, inclusive, and efficient solutions are called for. As the demand for transportation keeps increasing, innovative modes of transit can offer complementary or alternative pathways. Digital platforms are at the heart of these innovations. Will they deliver their promises to enable a thriving sharing economy and catalyze change towards a more sustainable future? The inaugural PSE/ESSEC workshop offers a unique opportunity to get insights from the most recent research in economics. Gathering over 20 influential international speakers and discussants, the event will foster discussions about the transformative potential of new transport modes and technologies in setting a new trajectory for sustainable, fair and efficient transportation.

ALT The conference is organized by the European Financial Data Institute (EUROFIDAI) and the ESSEC Business School and jointly sponsored by ESSEC-Amundi Chair / Ardian / PLADIFES / Groupe Caisse des Dépôts / CERESSEC. All researchers are invited to present in English their latest hashtag#research in all areas of hashtag#finance. Job market and PhD papers are welcomed and integrated in normal sessions. In recent years, the conference has become very selective with one in six submitted papers accepted. The EUROFIDAI-ESSEC Paris December Finance Meeting is ranked 2nd in Europe and 8th in the World among large conferences based on papers published in the Top3 Finance and Top5 Economics journals!
