I watched the Uganda election from afar. Unwell (sickly), and in a foreign country. I was unable to meaningfully participate for the first time since 2011 when Betty Ndindi,
@MauriceMugisha, Kato, Bernard Opwonya (Kabwa) & company thrust me into the world of TV commentary.
But the bold coverage of
@DailyMonitor, even in the face of severe State restrictions on their access to the Museveni election team and the adverse actions against their reporters by the legislature, was refreshing. They wrote the first draft of history (as they always describe the work of a journalist) with such clarity, precision, and boldness.
One
@ntvuganda reporter stood out to me most for his calm and diction, even when he was in the middle of a teargas wave or bullets flying around him (covering the NUP campaign trail).
@DanielKibet_, you did an excellent job.
