Consumer Competition Claims (CCC), through GameClaim, has launched a new class action against Valve in the Netherlands. The group claims Valve controls around 85% of the PC game market and uses rules that make it harder for developers to sell games cheaper on other stores. It also argues that Steam’s 30% cut on game sales is too high and shows anti-competitive behaviour. According to CCC, Dutch gamers have paid more than they should due to these practices, with total damages estimated at over €220 million since 2013.. The group says it will first try to reach a settlement with Valve. If that fails, the case could go to court and may take several years to resolve.

People making a big deal out of the new character from stellarblade and gotta make everything a debate. Aint that deep. Game is made by a korean company and they're gonna base their models off asian aesthetics. The times I have to constantly hear non asians say things about asian women are just racist and ignorant. You always hear it too: asian women are pedobating men or etc. Whether its our build or facial features.

This app is genuinely insufferable. A cesspool of negativity. No constructive criticism or thoughtful analysis of things. Just complaining about anything and everything. Every other post is just some brain rotted grifter trying to get his 30 bucks a month in ad rev. Being mostly positive about things and excited for the future and passionate about video games is somehow unpopular now. It’s just sad.

Is this the "fair competition" praised by recent articles? If a store with dominant market share taking a 30% cut can bully developers into not passing on savings to customers on competing stores with lower fees, then competition doesn't stand a chance.
