Big week for Artemis III 🚀 Just before NASA introduced the Artemis III crew, the SLS solid rocket booster segments arrived in Florida after a six-day rail journey from Utah. Later this year, teams will begin stacking the boosters that create 75% of the thrust needed at launch.

Well, well, look who's back! After several months of being hidden in the glare of the Sun, Mars is once again visible in the sky. But only for early risers – the planet appears as a small, reddish "star" low on the eastern horizon just before sunrise.

Always love seeing you!
Selfie with a side of science! Perseverance snapped this self-portrait as it explores the "Western Frontier" of Jezero Crater. A circular abrasion patch nearby marks where the rover scraped away the rock's surface so the team could analyze what's inside. jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasas-pers…

In an update from NASA this morning, the agency outlines the following for Artemis 3: • The SLS rocket will use a spacer, not the ICPS upper stage • The mission will be LEO only; no high Earth orbit • Astronauts "could potentially enter at least one lander test article" • Artemis 3 will be longer in duration than 9 days • Upgraded heat shield demonstration Remaining unknowns include: • Launch date/window • Timeline for naming astronauts • Precise orbit (altitude/inclination) • Exact mission duration • What science will be onboard • Whether Artemis 3 will include AxEMU spacesuit-lander interface demo nasa.gov/missions/artemis/ar…

Hubble, we salute you!
Celebrating 36 years of Hubble’s groundbreaking science! Since its launch into space on STS-31 on this day in 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has made more than 1,700,000 observations. Despite a challenging start, it has become one of NASA’s most remarkable success stories.

Best iPhone video ever!!
Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

MMX is cool! Best of luck @JAXA_jp
This mission is probably one of the coolest of all time and so few people even know about it. They are going to land on Phobos, deploy a rover and bring samples back to earth after observing Deimos as well. Tons of science on board

This is a critical step for future Mars exploration.
Our Rosalind Franklin rover will be the first ever to drill up to two metres below the surface of Mars, gathering new insights on the Red Planet 🔴
