All that matters on the last day about your ministry is what Christ thinks.
It doesn’t matter how the evangelical megacomplex judges you. It doesn’t matter how your church judges you. It doesn’t even matter how you judge yourself.
Minister for the sake of Christ & no one else!
While imprisoned the apostle Paul prayed for:
- a BLANKET: revealing his contentment to stay where God put him
- BOOKS: revealing his craving for truth
- BOLDNESS: showing his desire to preach the gospel unhindered
What do you pray for in the midst of your suffering?
Fellow preacher, our task in preaching is to make the Text...
Accessible, not acceptable,
Clear, not clever,
Faithful, not frivolous,
Authoritative, not original.
Just preach the Word, trust God to bring the fruit.
Christian minister, cling to Psalm 90:17. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain. "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands."
The 1st Adam was given a wife by God's grace. But the 2nd Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ, bought His bride w/ the dowry payment of His own blood! If a Christian u r part of His bride. Will u be in His arms and embrace in worship this morning, or in the arms and embrace of the world?
Let every preacher take note: Amid the frustrations and hardships of ministry, the most Christ-like thing is to stay focused on your calling, give thanks to God, and go on preaching the Gospel. — Joel Beeke
Expository preaching consists in the explanation and application of a passage of Scripture. Without explanation it is not expository; without application it is not preaching.
—Steven Lawson
Martyn Lloyd-Jones on the responsibility of the preacher:
You are not simply imparting information, you are dealing with souls, you are dealing with pilgrims on the way to eternity, you are dealing with matters not only of life and death in this world, but with eternal destiny.

Fellow pastor/preacher, our responsibility is:
Not to fill the pews, but the pulpit.
Not to produce results, but perform our duty.
Not to be novel, but to be faithful.
Not to be revered, but to reveal Him.
There is great freedom in the simplicity of our limitations.
