This is my response to the Guardian article on why the Restore Nature Now march didn't get media attention. I don't agree with the reasons given, so here is a thread explaining why I think it didn't hit the headlines. 🧵 1/12 theguardian.com/commentisfre…

This blog, based on research in Norfolk & Suffolk, shows how people (and dogs) have driven Ringed Plovers (and Oystercatchers) away from good breeding sites. wadertales.wordpress.com/202… #waders #shorebirds #ornithology
Yesterday, a team of staff and volunteers erected the Ringed Plover zone fence at Gunner Point on Hayling Island. The aim of this fence is to provide a safe, secure area for Ringed Plovers to nest and hopefully successfully breed this year. 1/

So much wildlife needs its own PR agent. Well done @curlewcalls @gow_derek
Wonderful to hear about the myths, stories and history of the wolf in Britain with @gow_derek and @curlewcalls this evening @ConwayHall. Derek explains why our fear and hatred of the wolf was unfounded and why we must think about the wolf in a new light. 🐺
