My thoughts on the situation surrounding @UNCFootball WR Tez Walker. This decision by the NCAA is just shameful.

Un-effing-believable. Hey NCAA: Stop saying “student-athlete welfare” and “mental health.” You clearly don’t care about either.

UNC's Mack Brown takes blow torch to NCAA: "I don't know if I've ever been more disappointed in a person, group of people or institution than I am w/NCAA right now. It's clear NCAA ... couldn't care less about the young people it's supposed to be supporting. I've lost all faith in its ability to lead & govern the sport. They've messed so many things up as it relates to college football & now their failures have negatively impacted the life of one of our own. The decision makers at the NCAA & the committee should be ashamed of themselves for doing this to a young man. We've got complete rosters overhauled through transfer portal, players playing in their 8th year of college, at their 4th school. Yet, Tez Walker, who only played football at 1 school, isn't eligible. It makes no sense & never will. Shame on you, NCAA. SHAME ON YOU!"

Forget the @NCAA’s incompetence. Ignore its anachronistic rules & ugly past. Spend the next 2 minutes acutely focused on Tez Walker as a human being. Consider what this impressive young man has faced. This is not opinion, these are incontrovertible facts. Tez’s history:👇🏽

Couple sources have indicated UNC expects NCAA to reverse its decision on Tez Walker’s eligibility for the opener against South Carolina. Likely to hear something next week. Would be ‘heartbroken’ if it stands.

Today, Gov. Cooper sent a letter to the NCAA President to grant Tez Walker's transfer waiver. Nothing could be bigger or more important to Tez than the opportunity to get a fine university education at UNC and to compete in front of his family in Carolina Blue.
